Different fan shroud question (1 Viewer)

Finishing up radiator install. There is a molded plastic bracket on the DS of the shroud. A clip attaches to it and holds a trans cooling hose.

Issue/question is the hole in the bracket is too big for the clip, It's the right clip. I broke the old one off so some how it was attached. I'm thinking it had a washer or something.
Yeah I know I could use a zip tie or something. Hoping someone can tell me how Mr T originally made this happen.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in tact on any 80 I’ve worked on. I consider it optional.

When I got a new oem shroud that clip transferred from the old to new no problemo.

is there another piece to the shroud bracket? I mean I just took mine off. It was a little bit of a challenge to get it out so something was holding it in there. But the hole in the bracket alone is just too big.

I think the FSM says to attach one of the "oil cooler" hoses to this clip. I think maybe one of the low pressure PS hoses possibly?

You can get that metal clip that slides onto that part of the shroud at any local auto parts store. Very common.

Yeah have to keep looking so far only seen ones with threads. Might have to modify some thing. Like to find broken shroud with the clip.

Thanks to @swamp-thing i obtained the correct piece. It it similar to a speed but except no threads.
