Hi all
I'm thinking of installing diff locks on my baby its an lc 71 swb 2011 i was going to get the Arb kit but before i go and pay loads of cash was wanting to know if theres any other options out there that would fit my car it has the same diffs as the Troopie and flat bed .

Cheers

TJM Pro Lockers also. I just installed them in my troopie's thirds.

Daily driver? You absolutely want selectable? Lunchbox type lockers like the Aussie if you want to go on the cheap. Not as great road manners like a selectable locker, but the Aussies are decent to daily drive.

What kinda mods will have to be made ?

I use the car as a daily driver till i can afford something as a run about . Would prefer to be able to select to switch them on and off use them for when I'm stuck in the sand or go wadi bashing

Checked tjm website don't have anything for the new gen 4.0 v6 as I'm gathering the dif ratios will be different from the older version

Will do thanks for all the help. What are the Arb kit like are they reliable diff friendly ?

The ARBs are great lockers, but like any product failures happen. So be prepared for the ARB haters:meh:

Do a search, tons of threads on ARB lockers.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

Well i guess I'm half way there with Arb cuz i managed to pick a compressor and a Arb front bumper of this guy who totaled his car and they are in mint condition for a total of 520 us dollars the car used to belong to a fetid before he left the country so I'm shouting what a bargain

The wide front 70series front diff centre has a few different things to the older 70 series which I can see making them not being 100% interchangable

Factory lockers not available for the 71?

I would just go with ARB.

I've run front and rear ARB's with longfield superset chromoly axles in the front on both of my trucks with chev 350's in them and given them arseholes in comps and hard trips and been real happy with the combined strength, the only thing I've ever broken has been 2x pinions and thats been from too much axle warp on leaf springs letting the diff heads twist around too far till the pinion snaps off other than that I've never been able to break them :D

We dont have the V6 in Aust but the V8 diesel models like the 76,78 and 79 series should be running the same diffs.

Look into the TJM, the new style ARB are not as good as the older ones.

What ?

So tell us the years to stay away from?
