so the other day I was up in fallbrook and found an empty lot that had a hill on it so I went to check out my lc's flex...

...but before I did that I tried to engage my front and rear diff locks. I was in 4HI (or normal awd mode) and not in 4LO (didn't occur to me that might be it) and the diff lock lights were flashing. I'm guessing that means they didn't engage?

Any suggestions?

...also, I installed the winch off my 4runner onto our lc today for a test fit so that we can buy another winch for the lc. It took a couple modifications (fabricated spacers, and new holes for the aluminum fairlead bolts) but it fits good!

Flashing means they are not engaged or they could be engaged but not getting the feedback from the switch. The lights will go solid once they are engaged. CDL has to be engaged before the axles can be engaged (either put it in 4LO or use a CDL button)

It's possible that the CDL is not engaging. Find a quiet area, and have someone listen under the truck when you put it in 4LO. You should hear a whirrling noise as the CDL engages.

There is a process to the diff lock madness....

Step 1. engage CDL (if you don't have the CDL switch engage transfer case into 4LO)
Step 2. wait for 'CDL LIGHT' & 'ABS light' on the dash to come on.
Step 3. Once lights are on engage the lockers.....

My problem was I would hit CDL switch and/or engage 4Lo and I couldn't get the ABS & CDL Diff Lock lights on the dash to come on... and without it the lockers wouldn't engage. I finally got them to work last month.
