Thanks !

Thank you to every one who was at Luis' today . One group knocked out the winch . While the U joints got done and the transfer case. then on to the oil leaks ! Thanks for lunch and dinner. Great group of guys ! i can't wait to repay the favors and help others with something.

Thanks

The transfer case wasn't so bad if it wasn't for those damn snap rings. Holy crap those things were a pain in the ass.

Having people shove pipes up my exhaust.

Well I guess it could have been worse...

Best news of all is that there are no leaks from the transfer case. Oil drips are gone as well. Looks like all that time was put to good use!

Thanks for the food as well. And beer. Much appreciated!

Glad the work paid off. Were there less vibrations in the drivetrain with the new u-joints? Make sure to respool that cable under tension before you need to use it.

Lunch was great too!

I talked to Justin on his ride home, and although he couldn't hear or feel any vibrations, he didn't think there were any. His tires were making too much noise to tell - but perhaps that's a good thing!

When I drove it around the bock, I couldn't feel anything out of order. Again, the tire noise was about all I could hear from the truck.

I'm thinking after seeing his u-joints, perhaps it's time to do mine as well. It's not too hard to get the driveshaft off and test it out, so I might do that and then if it's bad, order a set. I did get a truck that was pretty well maintained (by Toyota) - but that doesn't mean they actually DID the services they said they did, so it might all be BS. I have lubed up the u-joints in the past, but now realize I should have cleaned them off first, THEN lubed them so I could get a gander at the quality of the grease in the joint that comes out.

After he left the area of influence, the drips were gone!!!

Looks like the replacement ujoints did their magic too.

I think it was rather amazing how much oil was coming out of that oil pump cover gasket, but the gasket pretty much fell apart when Lenny and I pulled it out.
