Another transplanted Floridian here! I agree with Nomis. A Tampa get together soon is a must. I have talked to a bunch of new people in the area.

Trail ride

TRAIL RIDE

Hello to all.

We will be having a trail ride in Richloam on Saturday May 22nd. We'll meet at the normal starting place, the Fish Hatchery road off of SR 471.
The meeting place is about 5 miles south of SR 50 (at Tarrytown), or about 16 miles north of Hwy's US 98/Sr 35, on SR 471.

Plan on leaving the meeting place at 10 AM, so arrive before 10 AM. The area may be WET. We don't plan on doing any deep fording, but we most likely will have some water on the trails.

If you have Google maps, type in 28.481291,-82.054632 and you'll see where the meeting place will be, or on your GPS type in N 28 28.8 W82 03.3 (Datum WGS 84).

Please let me know, either by E-mail or on the FLCA forum if you plan to make the ride. That way you will not be left behind if you are running late.

Thanks,
Jerry Dixon

bug deflector and screen

Okay, so now I remember one of the reasons I left Florida, invasive species and I am not talking about Yankees. So, does anyone know where I can get a hood deflector and bug screen to fit an '88 Land Cruiser? A quick on-line search revealed nothing even looking at SOR, MAF and Slee. Most deflectors seem to stop at 1991 for LC's. Thanks in advance.

Haven't seen any locally - doesn't look like SOR carries them either for a 60/62. Lovebug season last a few weeks here and during that time I make it a point to clean them off periodically. That said, I believe adhesive backed clear paint protective film is available from collision centers, etc - that may be a viable option for you.

Everything was going along just fine until Rocky's new roof rack mount automatic tow strap retractor quit retracting and started dispensing...

That's when the overheating started!

Then El Presidente wants to make sure he's locked with all four spinning while comfortably perched on his own frame...something he picked up at the Circus years back...

Mike, a most welcomed new comer to the club in his beautiful FJ62 fell for the "mechanical sandwich" and was forced into submission...no way out of this daisy chain...
