So Laura can't go, she has work on Saturday. That means I have an extra seat. Darin, Adam or someone else need a ride?

Change of venue

Important Change of Camp

Just to let everyone know, Logan's dad Kenny Monk, has offered up the use of his family's property in which to camp, cook, and hangout. He has 26 acres of land, 2 of which are cleared for parking, camping and fixing broken stuff!. His barn will hold around 120 people and has a stove and facilities for cooking, and wood burning stoves.

We will be staying here instead of at Group camp for size constraints, since we will have around 30 trucks at this ride (if I counted all the clubs participants correctly).

From the outpost it is 2 miles towards Troy then right at Uwharrie store on River Rd, then exactly 7 miles to gate on left. Exactly 1.1 mile further is the BP at corner with Hwy 24-27.

For GPS/Mapquest purposes the BP station address is:
4560 NC HWY 24 27W
Mount Gilead, NC 27371

Saturday Morning

Meet at the Outpost at 8:30 and divide into groups. We'll depart in waves starting at 9:30, with around 6-8 in each group.

Easy (Wolfs Den) will park on the front gravel parking line closest to the pumps
Moderate (Dickey Bell) will park in front gravel parking line furthest from the pumps
Difficult (Daniel) will park on the rear gravel parking line close to the AIR pump

Saturday Night

Dinner will be a medley of potluck items, bring a little extra of whatever you make best in order to share. I will try to acquire a pig cooker in order to help facilitate some large scale cooking, but with tailgate season, it may be hard to get this late, so I would still plan like you were cooking at group camp. Definitely bring some regional beers if you want to swap...

Sorry it's so lengthy, Club presidents/trip leaders PM me for my cell phone and any questions you might have...

Brian

Hi Everyone,

Looks like I'm going to miss this one after all.

I had to bite the bullet and pull my gas tank after limping back from GWNF last week end. Keep getting junk in the carb when bouncing around.

Too bad, I had Friday off too.

Thanks for the invite.

Dave

still not sure if I will make it (wife wants to put up the tree) but I was wondering if any of the capable cruisers going up daniel had a pair of empty seats...my 6 yr old Evan has developed an obsession with daniel since my stock 80 wont dare go there.....maybe on sunday?...

Can we get a better addy for the actual gate for his place PM'ed to us or on here. I think most of us do not have the right size tires on our rigs.

Hey guys, just wanted to give some more info and say Lydia and I are honored to have you come to the barn. The property does not have an address but after you pass Woodrun development on the left, coming from hwy 24/27, there is 1 house only on the right. That address is 1260 River Rd. Troy NC 27371. Our driveway is 100 yards further on the right. This is on a straight stretch of road and I will mark the entrance with some car lot flags.
We do not have a bathhouse like group camp but there is a quality outhouse! oxymoron ;) The inside and outside of the barn is well lit, and the barn has hot and cold running water, (we can do a makeshift shower), picnic tables, sink, stove, refrigerator, and woodstoves. There are sleeping lofts and 2 enclosed rooms with bunks in the downstairs and carpet in the upstairs. We usually let the kids have those rooms.
Outside the back of the barn is a fire ring and we have plenty of firewood already there. Also, there is a creek that circles, supposedly with gold, so bring your pans if you want. My metal detector hasn't found any, yet!
4 wheelers, dirt bikes, guns, cornhole boards, booze, etc are all welcome! We hope you will come and enjoy this place as much as we do!

Does any body like oysters? It's the season for em... If enough people are interested I will buy some.

I will also try to snag some shrimp too!

Let me check with the wife. I may go saturday morning. I have my birthday party at 5 and, i guess, i have to be back home. David I let you know to see if we caravan on saturday

Kenny, thank you for being so generous! Are you accepting guests for Saturday night or for both Friday and Saturday? In Brian's notification, it seemed like it was only Saturday.

Anyone from Raleigh making the trip out?

Johnny, make whoever is your passanger a believer in the e-locker like you did to me!!!

and, keep the rubber side down!

Yes, the invitation is extended to both nights. I'll try and roll out on Friday and meet up with Adam and whoever else will be out there. Going to set up camp, and then try and hit a trail. But if could be Friday night for me also, depending on how much I get done in the next few days..

Johnny, you got the place all weekend! We hope everyone will stay at the barn, but those that want or need to stay at group camp, please check it out before setting up camp. There are spots to camp that only an LC can get to! :) Hope everyone is as excited about this weekend as I am!
