I've got a 1990 pick up in Canada with the day time running light module. I found the module in the center console area. I don't think I can just unplug the thing. I searched through here, but didn't find
any previous information. I've been told I can put a jumper on the factory plug, but not sure how that
works either.
Any ideas or a solution would be greatly appreciated. Thx, J

I'm confused, what is the reason as to why you need to remove/modify this?

Was going to help if I could understand the point of this. As most of us here don't even have this.

I looked it up in my FSM. Mine is 1990 also. Canadian running lights relay info is on page 7 of the wiring diagrams. Very last page. Looks like several other things are running off that relay, so I'm not sure how to bypass or unplug it. I, too, am not sure why anyone wouldn't want daytime running lights, unless you are travelling to Mexico or further South?

It's kind of law in Canada, but hey if the cops can delete them then what's the point?
Two problems with them, if one burns out then the low beams don't work either when selected.
Also, the taillight a don't come on, so if you drive into dusk, forward lighting and no rear protection.
Also it seems to go through headlights more than it should and getting tired of replacing lights on a truck that very rarely gets driven at night.
Thanks for the help, I don't have a FSM. I will see if my contact at Toyota dealer can help me out, I will research the page you referenced. It looks like I'm away from home for a bit, so it will be a while until I can get to it now. Thx, J

There should be a link somewhere on here to the FSM, but I don't know if would have that last page, which was for Canada only. The page is also dark grey, which is tricky to photograph or photocopy. I like my running lights, but I spend a lot of time driving to Revelstoke and elsewhere in the winter. I tend to lose the lights to small rocks more than burnout. I have also been stopped and hassled by police in Africa and South America for running with lights on during the day.

Thanks for the info. I'll dig up the FSM. I like this truck, and the daytime running light is a good idea, but not for me. And it's costing
money. Weird things happen in other countries with enforcement, but the weirdest I've had is right here in Canada.
