I feel the same way about speed limits. Had a very heated conversation once with a cop about it. Told him I don't need to be told that I cant speed past a school. I don't need policing to tell me that there are possible kids in the area and that I should slow down. Especially in the mornings when school is starting and in the afternoons when it ends. He failed to agree with me. My theory is that since his job security is dependent on idiots doing the wrong thing. He failed to understand that there are people in society that don't need policing. Maybe years on the job have made him jaded.
oddly enough I have never seen this quote from Danzig but have used the shopping cart scenario as a teaching point with my kids.
