The Scooby Gang have fallen on hard times.

Short answer, same turn radius as before the add-ons because the wheel base and axle width did not change. But now the add-ons will cut a swath wider than the turn radius, which may end up passing over already cut grass.

I think.

Practically speaking, the mower will work a little bit harder to turn because of the fixed wheels on the outboard mowers. Imagine have a grocery cart to push that had normal "steering" casters on the one you're pushing, then adding outboard grocery carts that had fixed wheels only. It'd be a bitched to push.

Isnt Radius for cars is measured by your outside wheel, for instance my lexus can turn around in this street because the outside wheel will not run over the curb.... since the outside wheel is now technically the oustide wheels of the two attached mowers the turn radius should be wider.

Or am I thinking of this the wrong way?

If the steering rack was turning those wheels, yes. but in this redneck engineered contraption, no. See my follow up analogy above.

1.75 hr commute
fawk...I'd lose my mind if I had to drive that. If that's public transpo, then I'd get through a lot more podcasts for sure, but still not like it.

the swath you cut will still be wider so your radius will now be wider.... look at his picture and imagine the car has two mowers attached to each side of it. It wouldnt' be able to turn around curb to curb in the same street and the r (radius) line would be longer.

now the radius of the center of the car would be the same but turning radius as I understand it is measured from the outside of the vehicle.

No. It's a 20 mile drive to work that usually takes me 35 minutes flat. I'm still not there, so let's just go ahead and call it 2 hours. So far I have seen no accidents, just a lot of bumpers. Work isn't answering the phone, so, sucks for them. I did just get all my bills paid over the phone though!
