Looking for any threads or how-to's showing people cutting thier top. I have seen several pics and would like to know a little more about whats involved and the right way to do it.

Specifically what parts of the "top" do you want to remove?

you should but your thoughts away!! and think about what you are asking then look at what you want to do,and under stand what the manufacturer put into that top/roof and hopefully you will then answer your own question.
I assum that you are wanting to chop a land cusier or 2nd gen or newer 4runner. I have seen several people that have done it, one is on rockymountianextreme.com in the technical section, it can be done, you need to remove the windows on the side and a lot of welding cutting and fab is required not a task for the ligth of heart but it does work well, maybe add a exo roll cage at the same time

*I'm also confused as the O/P's first post this month was for a 1st gen 4Runner, with a removable top alongside a 40 series...
I sure hope this is a legit deal and not someone wasting our time and knowledge here for poops and giggles.

Not here for poops and giggles, sorry I wasn't more descriptive.
1st Gen. Cut the top so that it only covers about half of the back of the runner. Found a "Spare" top. Thought about cutting the top instead of buying a bikini top.

So your talking about cutting the removable fiberglass top off a first gen 4runner, is this for a bob job?
