Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser 1971 Fuel Injected restored
Selling my Toy. Putting daughter through college.
When I bought this sweet little 40, what impressed me most was the frame off restoration and the attention to details the owner has demonstrated. The major selling point was the rust free tub and frame! I had seen what the elements can do and I wanted my purchase to last. That was 1997 when the last owner restored and customized this little gem and it is still rust free today! The rhino lining of the tub extends underneath as well as into the interior passengers compartment. The elements do not have a chance at rusting this one out. Where the rhino lining ends a beautiful steele blue pebble resistant textured paint begins. It still looks wonderful after a car wash.
The last owner had customized things nicely and I still have proof of the $40K he spent in receipts, but I still saw potential to make this baby mine. So I went ahead to spend my fair chunk of change.

In summary
I have enjoyed this FJ40 immensely. It has been driven back and forth to Moab, Utah from Denver annually without problems it gets 12 MPG on that yearly trip and that’s includes pulling a fully loaded M416 Military Trailer over the 11,000 ft rocky mountain passes.
What I have created is a fj40 that has power for highway travel and great off-road capability all at once.
Another plus was having the automatic transmission it made 4 wheeling a breeze and my wife was able to enjoy and drive this (she hates stick shifts…. Maybe you know someone like that????)
This vehicle requires a basic tailpipe emissions test every year in my county and passes with flying colors!
It is not a daily driver. I wheeled it once a year and have kept it in the Garaged since I have owned it.
I have changed the oil using Mobil 1 every 1000 miles or yearly whichever came first!
Again, This is not a rusty hulk that needs a major restoration like some you see for sale. This is ready for whatever you want it to be. And it is real good just as it is.
