my 92 FJ80 is in need of complete exhaust. It is at my buddies shop for a custom, he is going to put a Y in, then into a 2.5", single high flow cat.

My question, two 02 sensors, just weld in new bungs for both pre cat higher up before the Y, or, can I just use one, and wire the other in series to it, or, can I wire in a resistor to the deleted one that will give the same signal to the ECU (I did this on a WRX way back and it worked like a hot damn, I think it was a 2.2 or 3.3 farad, don't recall). Has anyone done this? Prefer not to spend extra $$ on welding/ 02 sensors, etc.

Any input greatly appreciated. Cheers!

In my opinion, you want both O2 sensors for a 3FE. They are the primary feedback to the ECU regarding fuel trim.
Resistance is measured in ohms, capacitance is measured in farads.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply. You are right, it was a 2.2k ohm resistor I soldered in line and 'voila' no more CEL codes, and now that I think about it, it was for an EGT sensor (was many years ago).

I will have two bungs welded in on the double that comes off the manifold (one on each), then the Y, then the high flow.

Unless someone has done something just as effective only cheaper/ quicker?

thanks again all.
