I know I'm flogging a dead Horse, but it's already more than a $10,000 Horse. :bang:

What is the Lift on an original Toyota 2L Cam?
Like a Petrol Engine, does a Diesel also have the same or more Duration on the Exhaust Lobe than the Intake?
Are there aftermarket manufacturers of Cams for the 2L?
How do I notate my Custom Grind figures, so the Cam Grinder understands exactly what I want?
Once I have the Lift figure, what are normal ramp angles of a Roller type Cam? So I can calculate the Degrees of Duration @ .050"

Jon, check out this thread, and get in touch with "Gnarls" tell him I sent you :D He has some fancy engine software that can "test" different cam profiles (as you can see in the thread) I'm not sure if it will do diesels too or not.... But it's worth a shot, so you can see some relative numbers before you drop the $$$. Also, he may be able to help you with the cam definitions that you'll need to give to the grinder.

I read that thread where it was linked to a few weeks back.

I downloaded the trial version of the Software Gnarls used, but I couldn't make any sense of it.

I created this Excel Spreadsheet, where you can alter the figures in colour.

Re: Toyota 20/22R Performance Cams

Hey Jon,

take a look at these webpages:

Northwest Off-Road Specialties, Inc. - Toyota 2WD & 4x4 Truck Parts and Accessories.
(this website offers weber carbs and manifolds matched to their cams).

Downey Off-Road
(this website offers Holley carbs and other valvetrain and engine components).

These options might save you some money rather than having a one-off camshaft made.

P.S
I am looking for an engine compartment electrical harness for my 1993 JDM Hilux 4x4 double cab with the 3L (2800cc) diesel engine, that has the connectors for the headlights and electric aerial on it.

I have learned that the harness I'm looking for has been used in the 1989 - 1994 JDM Hilux pickups that have the 2800cc 3L diesel engine and an electric aerial. Whether the Hilux has a single or double battery 12 volt electrical system, or if the pickup is a single or double cab does not matter.

The key to finding the harness that will work in my Hilux is: The vehicle must be a JDM Hilux that came with the 3L engine and an electric aerial. These 2 features are common to all of the 1989 - 1994 Hilux photos I have seen, and the engine compartment in all of them look almost identical to mine.

Do you know of anyone/anywhere that might have any 1989 - 1994 JDM Hilux pickups that came with the 3L engine, an electric aerial and are being used as parts vehicles?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
