F$&@ING YES!!!

So excited!!

No $hit! I almost crapped myself as I read the post!

So you're telling us that we can have a rear bumper that can be configured to have dual swingouts with a three jerry can holder+ladder on one side and a 35" tire holder on the other AND they'll be removable if we so wish?!?!

So just let me understand this as an 80 owner, we'll actually have a CHOICE of customizing BOTH a front and rear bumper rather than being force fed cookie cutter solutions??!?!

Seriously I'm floored, I'm really not sure how to take this as I'm not used to having a say for my 80 when it comes to front and rear bumpers, I think I need to lay down and take this all in slowly.

Geez next you'll be telling us something like your front and rear + sliders will allow an easy bolt on exoskeleton or some $hit like that and give me a GD heart attack!

The removable swing outs is huge. I DD my 80 and have to get in to the back hatch 8-10 times per day. I want/need swing outs for when I go trailing and camping but I don't want to mess with them 50 times per week. Being able to remove one or both is huge. This was one of the first things I asked about. The other thing is top secret and you will have to wait to see it! :hmm:

I can't wait to get everything and try to beat the crap out of it.

Everyone is going to be so jelly!

@LS1FJ40 I hear you, I've found that since I've put my homemade dual swings on my IPOR getting to rear storage is sort of a pain. Can't wait to see what unfolds here in J's shop.

@LS1FJ40 @warezdog

80 is in, front bumper removed. I'll get going on the front in the morning.

Holycow I didn't expect 80 porn so soon!

I see the Land Rover lefts its marks on your floor

Actually a majority of that is from Poppy's rear main and radiator hoses. Still a ton to do to get her where she needs to be. The Rover sat in there for several weeks and left a spot about 3" in diameter.

Just marking their territory is all.

Wow looking pretty sweet. I had thought about going with a 1" body lift, is that hard to accommodate?

Dam rovers pissing everywhere.....

Thanks,

I think @LS1FJ40 and @Mr Tibbs are the only people here that know the story behind these 2 bumpers........... About a month before CruiserFest15 I started building these to get a feel for them from the people in attendance.... WELL!!!! The welder came out in me (this happens occasionally) and I got pissed off and took them to the dump ground. I pitched them out, cussed and cussed some more and then 8ish weeks later went back and dug them out of the appliances, propane bottles and other misc scrap metal. Its a good thing I live in a small town and could actually remember the general vicinity of where I originally disposed of them...Because I didn't keep any of the paper templates either..!

SO!!!! HERE I AM AGAIN AND DETERMINED TO GET THESE TO MARKET!!!

@warezdog I'm pretty sure I can take care of the 1" BL... Just gonna cost ya!

Actually most of that dribble came from my 60's RMS and radiator hoses... She still needs quite a bit of LOVE, but I'm getting there. Now the 80 is marking its territory... HA!

I'm glad you didn't turn your back on us 80 owners. I know some are a fickle bunch but there are some good ones that appreciate your high level of detail and craftsmanship AND are willing to pay for it.

I'm super stoked for this stuff. I wish I had a third running vehicle, I would've shipped my 80 to you!

I know the AC drier is located differently (correctly on the 91-92) on the 93-97 80s. On the 91-92 it is up out of the way in the engine bay. On the 93-97 it hangs down below the valance. The 80 you have in your shop is a 95-97 (I'm assuming by the sombrero on the grill).

Hell brother, I'm as fickle as they come... BUT, what most like because "BOB AND TOM and .. and ... and... and... " have one is not what I want or like.... Usually makes me HATE IT EVEN MORE, I'M A NON-CONFORMIST... I like being different and I know there are a plethora of others just like me out there. So, once I get everything situated with these two standard models, I can then offer more specialized/custom options. I love when clients ask if I can do something different or add or tweak a component. Most of the time I do it at little to no extra cost just because it keeps me hopping and out of the cookie cutter rut.

Yes, it is a '97. Looks like all that has to be done is to turn the drier about 30 degrees and it is protected and up out of the way with this bumper.

Thanks

I'm doing the dryer mod for mine next time I recharge so no biggie there. I'll probably hold off on the body lift for now just thinking ahead for a diesel swap.

Just don't go telling anyone the top secret plan for my bumper! I want to be the first to have it! :)

WHO IS THIS?? I don't recall...

The top secret plan for the swing out. Nobody has ever had one built like how I want it built. If you can't remember, it's cool, I'll remind you when it's time.
