Just saw this DIY roof rack. Looks slick using 80/20. Would work for 60's as well with the gutters mounts.

Just curious...is it important to delete the factory rack before going to a new one ? And if so is there a video resource on how to do that ?
General best practice is delete the factory sunroof period. It is the Only place i found rust on my vehicle. Typically you won't want a very tall rack so removing it will be ideal anyway.
As far as videos go. No. But it is only complicated because of the rust issue. Phillips head screws hold it on, however some of the nutcerts spin because of the rust issue. If none do. It is an easy task.
Be ready to clean, remove the rust and something to cover that stuff. Doesn't have to be perfect as people can't really see the roof well.
