Again, part of what makes UC so great a club to be part of. and now to the pics.................

No hurt feelings intended.
I guess I was dazed and confused and posting without really thinking through.
I was thinking Tommy had rescued your (Steve's) pig on the PPR. I forgot it was Jason's. I was trying to give props to Tommy, thought I did.

I'm glad everyone pitches in, no one left to fend for themselves. Code of the road sort of chivalry that's seldom seen any more. I was saying that to Scott up on the bald.

The 'new baby' I was talking about was Papa Smurf, not Juice Box. Juice is a stalwart supporter of the club, especially this weekend being part of the support team in the valley with Troll.
Kudos to you as well and I'm deeply chagrined that my crude attempts at humor so missed the mark.

BTW while I'm explaining: What I meant by 'come back to haunt me' is I'll probably be the next one in need of assistance from this band of Trail Knights.

Finally I'm sorry I missed ya'll on 74. I must have breezed on past. I don't know how far along you were but I was probably playing with radio and iPod half way to Waynesville, watching traffic after that. My phone wasn't on until Asheville but there was no voice mail there.
I certainly would have stopped if I'd seen you guys. I say plural because Jason must have been about 15 minutes ahead of me.

Bill - you need to edit your post. :D Tommy went far out of his way and beyond the call of duty to help Jason and me to trailer Jason's Pig back to Tommy's house where Tommy selflessly allowed Jason to leave his Pig until it could be picked up. A HUGE thanks to Tommy for this help because it would have been a long drive for me to take Jason home or to follow Jason home without a clutch - wouldn't have been a problem though. Another HUGE thanks to Jason for pulling a U-turn on 74 today to offer his assistance when my FJC was disabled and an even bigger thanks to Jason for hanging around just so I would have company while Karl delivered a control arm nut and bolt compliments of Rick so I could get back on the road. There are some really nice and outgoing people in UC - couldn't ask for more.

And what do you mean by "Next time maybe half the club won't be tied up nursing the new baby"? Are you talking about me? I spent just as much time this weekend helping members out (recoveries, trips to town for parts, delivering pizza to the bald, fetching coffee, cleaning the cabin, etc) than I did wheeling - its all part of supporting the club, helping my friends, and I'm more than happy to do so.

ha, we saw you buzz by bill. we were at the rest area just before waynesville. (most expensive air up ever huh?)

Hey guys,

Rob and I want to thank you for a spectacular weekend! So much fun. That was my first club ride in six years, and it did not disappoint! Sorry I bailed early. I didn't want to mess up my pig any more than the issues I caused. Apparently the muffler and tail pipe ripped off during that long deep rut mud bog. Granted I took it at full speed! But I made it through, that's all that matters right! And with all the mud my distributer was going crazy and running really rough. I'll be making some adjustments and improvements to the pig to keep up with y'all better next time. It's had a bath and will get a new exhaust system this week. Any suggestions on pipe and muffler placement? Big thanks to JP and Bob for leading the way! And there was no way anyone was getting stuck with Andy's 80 behind us. Great guys to wheel with! I'll post pics tomorrow! See ya next time!

Wish you'd have radioed. Mine was probably still on, cell phone no. I didn't think about that until Asheville.
I'd have been glad to stand by. And I've got baling wire in my tool bag. I think. Where actually did the bolt fall out?
Yeah the Sylva air is slow and expensive. Next time I'll use my own compressor or go south on 107. The air at the convenience store at 281 is much faster, 45#X4 for $1.50 with half the second dose left over.

Ran into this 40 for sale on the way home... $18,900 OBO! Say's it's a frame off 5 yrs ago. Looks nice but had some rusty areas on the hood, doors and surface rust on parts of the frame. Don't know that it's worth anywhere near asking price, but it's pretty nice. Located where 23/441 turns to Clayton down 1/2 mile on the side of the road. Can't miss it. 350, NV4500, PS, AC/Heat, other goodies. Brett Murphy, 828-421-1973.

Saw that truck a few months ago, when it was more towards town in Franklin. Looks like they've moved it for more visibility. Anyways, when I looked at it, it looked OK, but seemed awfully high, especially without removing the diamond plate.

Steen, how'd you like driving through the old hometown? Blink and you might miss it. Sounds like y'all had fun.. Maybe sometime soon!

Next time anyone has to air up, go to the gas station that's next to that Advance Auto or Auto Zone(which ever it is) on the left as you go back into Cullowhee from the trails. It's free and I've NEVER EVER used a faster compressor. THAT THING WAS SWEET!!!!! I want one at home. Thanks for an awesome wkend guys. I loved it and Allie did as well.

Oh, and the latest quote from Allie after I told her to go chk mud for pics so i wouldn't have to email 'em all; "Mud is Addicting!!!! I was on there for an hour checking everything out for the club!!" Now, she wants to save up and buy her 62.

at least one of you sees the light ;)

Update. one of my fuseable links was blown....rigging up a temp for blade fuses until I can order replacements and track short.

Yeah, I had meant to get back w/ ya a while back about her bringin a cute friend. Sorry that didn't work out. She actually did have one interested in goin but, well you know how that goes...

I'm not sure ya'll need to doin all this talk about rings though guys, ESPECIALLY since she's actually onto Mud now. You guys don't need to be writing checks that I'm not able OR WILLING to cash.:bang: HAHA good times though.

Yea, way overpriced. Could be worth $10k though.

Everytime I do that drive I'm amazed at how much development is happening up there. Used to go up there a lot back in the early 90's. That whole stretch was desolate. Now it feels like suburban Atlanta.

No worries at all man - no hard feelings on my part at all!

I did see you breeze by but I didn't even have time to wave. By the time you came by my FJC was already off of the hi-lift and just waiting on a nut.

No hurt feelings intended.

Hey guys, had a great time. Enjoyed putting faces with names. Great place to ride though. We stopped at the rest area at the top of Balsam also, but no one was there by the time we got the trailers loaded and got on the road. Info I didn't even think about fusible links, but I dont know how these things are wired, I'll check on some new wiring diagrams for future.

Scott and I both had a blast, and hope to see everyone at GSMTR

Hey guys, I had a great time. I think I broke my 100 in just right. Since I live so close I may have 2 go back and do sum more exploring. Look'n 4ward 2 more pix. I want 2 show the wifey what her cruiser can do. Thx Tim

The fusible link surprises me, cause when mine has gone (um 3 times now) it will not turn, click, or even illuminate any dash lights. Glad you got home safe john.

Great trip, I had a blast as always. Good to see old friends and meet some new ones as well. Weather couldn't have been more pleasant, what a treat!!

I'll post a picture or two when I get them off my camera in a bit. The real photographer will likely post up later as Mary Ellyn was hard at work taking great shots during Saturday's ride - thanks!!

Thanks to Marshall / support crew who brought the pizza and heater to the bald Saturday night. That hit the spot and certainly beat a soggy gas station sandwich!!

Steve - I guess I flew right by you too since I departed minutes in between Jason and Bill. Sorry about that, I usually don't miss much but between playing with the iPod, cell phone and GPS, I was likely less attentive than normal. Probably a lesson there!!

Glad everyone made it out safely and good to see the UC network lending a helping hand to troubled rigs / members when needed. Another reason this club is great!!

Hey guys, had a good time this weekend despite my cold. I'm glad we we're all able to help each other when the chips were down. I only wish cell phone coverage were better so that communications were better. We were working on Rick B's 80 at the cabin when Steve called and all we got was that he was down somewhere about 20 miles out before the call dropped. When we got Rick B's 80 patched back up, we went back into town and were finally able to get a signal and met up with Karl so that we could help him out. Luckily I had a spare shock mount bolt with washer and nut. The nut turned out to be the same as the LCA bolt. Don't worry about it Steve, I'm going to order a couple more things from RHT and just add the bolt/nut to my order. And we left the bleed kit with Rick B, since he was going to need it after the ABS actuator install. It wasn't the best fit anyways, we had to modify it to work on the calipers AND the MC.
