Jeff do you have a map of that route? Because I usually drive alone, I know the places but not their names. "Lookout lake loop bc" brings up mostly hiking loops.

Lookout lake loop...instead of turning right to go down to Hale...turn left and follow the hale creek fsr. Goes up to Lookout lake, which if memory serves is also looked after by the 4WDABC, but there is not much up there, and not much room for anything either. The road continues and eventually comes out on the Mystery creek fsr, from there turn left to go to the north end of Chehalis or right to get back onto the main fsr.

i dont think its the hale creek fsr but the next road right before the way to the campsite. i think its actualy called harrison west fsr. the hale creek road runs on the other side of the valley. once you are on the right road, there will be a fork soon. both ways do meet up again but the high road will also let you check out the west side of the lake.

as jeff mentioned, you can head to chehalis afterwads but Pete honestly you should try to also enjoy the festivities at camp. there will be demonstraions on how to (not) cross water or pull your stuck buddy out by our very own clelebrated MD.
