We are getting directions.

Another 2 miles was the answer everytime we asked so we quit asking.

Here we are at Chicken Corners.

The bottom picture shows the corner of how chicken corner gets it's name. It is a hiking trail/goat path around the corner of the rock face. That is Marlin standing on the edge.

Marlin and Freds40 said that around the corner it opened up onto a platue. I didn't make it around the corner, someone had to stay behind and watch the rigs. :D

Here is a picture taken as far out on the trail that I went.

45 degree off camber with loose gravel in cowboy boots is not a winning combination.

The top picture is a clsoe up of the corner and looking down stream of the horse bend of the colorado river.

In the bottom picture you can see my rig in the upper right hand corner.

This is the return trip.

Marlin hit 35mph plus, I was on his tail but the dust got so bad I had to back off a little to see the road.

In the bottom picture, you will see the top of my rollcage. This was a left handed shot taken with my arm reached up while steering and shifting. I love auto focus.

The suspension broke in real nice. I actually lost 2" between my bump stops and the bump stop pads. It now rides like a dream. :bounce:

nice bro... i want to go so bad....wow thats chicken rock....good name....

Friday morning was spent loading a few items for Marlin in my truck and trailer.
I could not let a good friend drive 1,000 miles like this.

Freds40 was trying to balance the load and ended up driving the Red rig.

The bottom pic shows the maximum air in the tire and the rear air bags pumped to 100PSI on the Tundra.

This guy has the worst luck.

He left NC with a broken T-Case. He grabbed his spare and then drove to VA to pick up his friend. They drove all the way across the country and then swapped out the T-case in camp. His first day out he snapped a pinion. He found a 4:11 course spline diff assy and put it in. The next day out, he snapped that pinion.

SOA = Traction Bar

He posted this on the door to the restroom/showers. it was funny but everybody felt sorry for him. Nobody had extra course spline pinions with them in camp. Everybody had them but at home. Shoot, I have three but at home.

With my Tow rig and trailer loaded with Marlins stuff we did not want to unload it all to take my rig out.

Marlin gave the keys to his red rig to Freds40 and we headed out on the trail. Marlin took a nap. He had about 4.5 hours sleep since he left Fresno three days earlier.

We hit the Moab rim trail.

You can see the road on the left of the picture. We aired down here. If you look at the double telephoe poles, that is as far as we made it, about 500' on the trail. There was traffic coming downhill. We then spent an hour or so assisting with uprighting a rolled mini. If you look real close just above the large miscolored rock, you can see the rigs. After that done, more downhill traffic was waiting to come down. We backed up and aired up and headed back to camp.

The dinner was great!

After the Rising Sun Members won all the high dollar raffle prizes :hhmm: we hit the road.

I blew a heater hose on the way to I-70. The ironic part is, I don't have a heater. :meh:

We fixed the heater hose in Green River as we fueled up. The next services would be 108 miles and we were all (Over?) loaded.

I have never hated a 5 speed so much in my life. The split between 3rd and 4th in the Getrag as well as the NV4500 is big. Most talk about it but when loaded heavy and pulling big hill, you really notice it.

I crested 3 hills at 37mph in 3rd. I really needed a 3.5 gear. The drive to Richvale and then on to Cedar City was uneventful. I got 12mpg. :bounce:

At Cedar City (4:45am), Marlin had a hotel room ready. He and Freds40 had a rock crawling campetion to attend at 9:00am.

I drove on.

Here is me hitting the Arizona border at sunup.
