All I'm planning on going to Cruise Moab this year and was just wondering if any other club members were going too. In years past we done some pre-coordination so that we could schedule the same trails on the same day and any pre-wheeling on the way there. Not exactly sure if I'll be going for a full week Saturday to Sunday or just the Tuesday to Sunday - May 3rd to May 8th that is listed for the event.

Sign up should be coming really soon so if you have interest or questions post up.

Cheers,
Norm

We are provably in this year. Last year got cancelled for us at the last second.

Is there a Walmart near by

IIRC Grand Junction is the closest Walmart
Last time in Moab I was stopped by the police only to look at my CampTeq and he pointed me to an area about 2 miles out of town. In town is much safer if you are participating in adult beverages.

I will be there. Used to live in north Phoenix, now moab for 11 years. Probably won't pay money to wheel on local trails, but would be open to some wild cat runs.

Sounds like sign ups for CM16 should be opening up soon. I'm bringing a Moab virgin with me @samtoddlee and plan on signing up for the event and at least a couple of event runs. We'll also do some freestyle runs prior to the event and possibly on that Saturday (maybe White Rim). I'm shooting for Golden Spike on Thursday and likely Hell's Revenge on Friday. We'll be motel camping likely at the Bowen Inn.

Registration is now open, get'em while they are hot! Signed up for the Wed. Night run thru Hells Revenge, Spike on Thurs. , Moab rim Fri., and Kane Creek on Sat. If we have enough to organize our own run on Friday or Sat. definitely would prefer that.

Night run thru Hells Revenge would be exciting

At CM14 my daughter and I were lucky enough to go the first Cruise Moab night run which was through Fins-n-Things. It was a blast. The slick rock takes on a whole new persona during dusk-ish and beneath the setting sun. Definitely worth the price of admission.

Plus it's a good excuse to add some cool LED rock lights :grinpimp:

My Family will be in Moab Memorial Day weekend. Obviously not a sponsored event but that is what works for us. Would like to see some friendlies if anyone else is there as well. If I make Cruise Moab it will be last minute solo mission.

I'm still waiting for trail confirmations which usually come after registration is closed. The web site is still showing open so there is time for people to sign up if have been on the fence. Can't wait!

I received confirmation of my trail selections so I'll be doing the Hells Revenge night run on Wednesday and Golden Spike all day Thursday. I still plan on going to the dinner on Saturday night, but am open to runs Wednesday morning after I go through tech inspection and on Friday and Saturday.

I'm thinking we might want to target White Rim for Friday. You have to have a day use permit for that trail plus it's a long day on the dirt. There are limits on the number of day permits issued and Friday might be less crowded than a weekend day. You can apply on line 24 hours in advance so we wouldn't have to go to the visitor center first. If I remember correctly, we did about 70 to 80 miles in 3/4's of a day last time I ran it. But this was with a larger group which meant more time for the stop at Musselman arch, more restroom stops, etc..

Then we could do Moab Rim on Saturday. Close to town is good after a long day on the trail.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Anyone else going to make the trek?

I just checked and its looking like Im out for White Rim - Pets are also not permitted, even in vehicles. What is happening to our country:(

You can camp at the top of the switchbacks Above mineral bottom, run the white rim trail, then camp on shafer road just outside the park. You will still have a long day but it will be minimalized and you don't have to get camp permits.
