I just can't not chuckle when you say "nana".

Your folks must be out of town ( or ignoring me lol) so I'll try again next week , going camping this weekend...

ah s***ty... give them a call durring the week... I think they might have gone camping this weekend too... :hillbilly: If you time it right perhaps you can get the guy's who work for my dads company to help load the s*** for you

Well a bit of an update... immediately after arriving in ottawa I turned around and headed to europe so I hadn't had a chance to diagnose why the truck wouldn't start...

Got in there today and figured out that the battery on the left side was dead (And its the battery that triggered the massive relay that connects the left/right batteries for starting/charging) figured that was a bit odd so I jumped the truck with the right hand battery (I love duel batteries!) and immediately took a voltage reading from the alternator...

turns out the brand new performance alternator I have (New at the time of the diesel swap) has gone to s*** and is putting out 98.4 volts... that'll cook a battery pretty fast.... now to figure out how to warranty it from ontario... :bang:

I might just say fxxx the warranty and get it rebuilt locally... (probably cheaper then trying to get it back to lordco in victoria...)

is that the same alternator you were trying to get warranty on just before you left?

yep.... didn't end up getting it because the cashier was new and didn't know how to do the warranty paperwork... at that time the only issue was the bearings where howling at idle....

but I think I've sorted out an overly complex way of having lordco warranty it and deliver it to ontario ...

hey Toshi, it sounds like the voltage regulator may be done for. There are some good links in the diesel section on how to diagnose and fix.

Shouldn't be that hard... I'd talk to Terry and see what he can do for you.

I think you should keep the alt as is.

98.4 volts could be useful as a theft deterrent.

Just think if you could get it up to 6.21 gigawatts...
