I think I'll pass...it's just easier to right the check. ;)

Dang it! I just read both of your 45 builds and was hoping to see more of your fab work.;) Your threads even inspired me to buy a welder and start on my lv project. Good luck on whatever you decide to do.:popcorn::popcorn:

Any progress on this rig?

Look for new updates in about week and half to two weeks as I had an unexpected cancellations which will allow me a little time to play with one of my own rigs. Plus I really would like the floor space back that this truck is currently occupying as it not the smallest thing to shove into a corner of a shop!

Anything new on this? I'm very interested in the progress. I have some similar ideas for a similar project, just waiting for the cash to roll in.

Well, as with many things life took a front seat for a little while so my personal projects all got pushed back a bit. I really want to be able to drive this truck, but I will also not rush it's completion as it needs to be done right. I am reminded daily that it needs to be worked on as I try to maneuver other projects around it. Looks like I won't be able to really put my hands on it for any length of time till December--and when I do I will make sure to post up photos and updates. A lot more welding before I can actually begin rough fitting mechanicals and body to complete the frame work.

It's December...well...ALMOST...Any updates?

Eco,

Other than reading through what seemed like a tossed script from a soap opera, (and happy to not have been involved) I have enjoyed this build up and am looking forward to seeing the 4 door get some more attention. Best of luck. I think once it's done and your heading through the passes of Oregon in the spring with a big grin it will all be worth it in the end. As with all the builds I am following, I am inspired and want to be out working on my rig every day. unfortunately I had my spine fused and get to spend my time on mud and my money on doctor bills instead. Regardless, Happy Christmas to everyone and here's to the many lucky readers who will get new landcruiser parts as presents and are healthy and able to enjoy your rigs.

Amen bro .

Hopefully soon Predator42. Need to finish up a 45 SWB and then complete some work on a Series 109 Land Rover then finally I will be able to aim the welder back to this truck. The truck has reminded me that is has been neglected by smacking my knee when trying to move items around it.

Curious about the updates. If you get it started, please put some pics.

Speechless of what had happened. Trust and happiness are rare commodities nowadays. Brought up in a rough country, I have adapted not to trust and that's the way of surviving. I spent a long time in the US, and can understand why honor system works. Nothing is perfect, dishonest unethical practice are everywhere in the US too, but so much less than developing countries. That's how the honor system works and naive people ends up disappointed. It's sad thing when you have to kill the spirit in your heart to survive.

Ok enuf jibberish, please update pics when you have time

Cool build! Would like to see it done....

I read it all. Not going to comment on the stuff that was going around in the thread. But I am going to say I got a very good body guy with a history in muscle cars who is dirt cheap by body fab standards. I can't speak for him but I think he could build a crew cab FJ40/45 for under $30k, finished with paint. You would probably have to supply him with a couple of decent bodies to build it from (and or body parts) and I don't know what to tell ya about frame. Use an full sized truck frame? Stretch a 40/45 frame? Use an 60 or 80 frame?

This guy is good, real good. And he is young so still very enthusiastic! He quoted me at $3500 to fix a rotted up cab, roof needs major fab work. That was finished with paint and not cheap paint. I think he gave me verbal quote of about double that to stretch the cab into an extra-cab and paint the rest of the truck. He is doing a resto for me/us now that is at least 1/2 of what a comparable shop would charge.

Any ways, he is a friend and as I say damn good at what he does so I am pushing his name a bit, albeit without the name! He is a one man show and a surgeon is his main client but he may have time for other projects. So if anybody wants a very good body guy who is dirt cheap I am happy to put you in contact with him directly. Western Wyoming is where his shop is at. Just pm me if you want his contact info...

Cheers
