looking at getting a runner here in the not to distant future and wondering a few things.

Are the fenders/hood from an 80 truck compatible to a first gen runner? wouldn't thing they changed the hardwear locations but... i really like the fender/hood shape of the first couple years

2 has anyone put or thought about putting another bench behind the back seat? looking at pics looks like there might be room but, i don't own own yet, just wondering

The 79-83 truck fenders don't swap onto the 84-88/89 trucks and 4Runners. A 3rd row seat would be tight and there wouldn't really be a good way to get into it. I guess there would be enough room to make it work, but I haven't met a 3rd row seat I liked with enough room since my dad's 72 Suburban  Also there's a question of legality....?

Assuming proper bolting of the seat to the floor so it doesn't rip out in an accident, I bet it still wouldn't meet safety standards for exiting it an emergency.

Maybe if you keep the top off.... :D Hehe

I think you'd need a rear roll bar as well, because of the fiberglass cap......

good call on all points, damn i was hopping to have a very uneque looking runner, and for the seat it wouldn't really be used much just out at camp to keep from having to use more than one truck to get people around.
