I just put on an ARB awning and went that route because you can attach a wall and floor and sleep in it.
It is kind of cumbersome to put up by yourself. If I was gonna use an awning just for shade I would go Bomars route
with no poles. easy. Also with no poles if your in a concrete parking lot you don't need to figure a way to weigh down the poles since you can't stake them to the ground.

Nolen's awning is the sh*t.

I have a cvt. Cheap, easy, square.

I have a CVT square one as well. Price was right and works just fine. I see the appeal of the foxwo g, but from what I hear @Bomar has the one to get.

$1500 is a bunch. I could get 3 fox wings for that. Or a second RTT. What did you pay for yours @Bomar ?

You could but you get what you pay for. I learned that long time ago.

I can honestly tell you that i bet I will use and deploy my awning 10x more than others because it is so easy.

I have very young kids and no poles was the only option for me. If it is raining I can get out and deeply awning and have a place to change kids 100% dry. Also I will be hanging out under it watching games and practices at a later date.

Fox wing is a great option just not for me.

Martis there are walls and floors for Alu Cab also.

Pssst... Don't tell anybody but I overlanded for 9 days without those high dollar stretchy pants. Not sure how I survived?? lol

Can the ARB awnings be easily mounted to a factory rack? I'm willing to drill into crossbars if needed. I found the smallest one for $144 shipped.

Yes it can be mounted to factory rack. Lots of info on google.

What size is that one? I think the small one would be too small for my fatness.
