Y'all holla when it's done. I don't have the time to keep up with this one.

what ever Rob says about the 5.3 liter swap go with it. I know he has researched it. you could always extend the wheelbase to make everything fit. It will ride better with a longer wheelbase anyway.

But alas, I do agree with my buds about this project. The options are endless, just stick to a plan that you want. but the best thing to do is….

Just pick a color and let Rob do the rest. ; )

All great input, Thanks! I hear no one interested in using the 80 chassis.

I'll take it if you're just going to scrap it!

...what's the best GM 5.3/auto/tcase for my use? Year and model etc?

When I georgled this I was told get one with as few miles as your budget can afford.

Electronically speaking, there is a lot more info and support out there on the gen 3 motors. (Pre 2008-ish). I bought a gen 4 not really knowing this, but it was the lowest mileage one I could find in my budget.

If you go with a cruiser t-case, you'll need a 2wd auto transmission to mate to the adapter.

I called Advance yesterday, tech said to buy 07 5.3 and older two wheel drive, wanted to sell me the adapters for 40 Saginaw to factory column, said I needed their cooling set up for the 5.3 including their drop in side to side tank radiator and duel electric fans then said I needed to adapt to the 40 case and keep axles the same, he also said that the 10 and up camaro exhaust manifolds were the ticket, they like the Trailblazer set up on the 2wd 5.3 and auto, just the adapters and parts were about $4,500-5,000 then you've got to find the motor and install charges, NUTS!

and everybody wanted to know why a 1f (slightly used) is going back in the Pig.

Just get the adapters. There are other ways to go on that other stuff.

Sounds like they knew their stuff but it doesn't all need to be purchased up front retail.
Georgle it.

Can't just raise taxes to pay for this kind of mission creep...

Liking my 80s a lot more

Agree with Nolen here. Source the 5.3 and adapters, get it mounted in the 40, and figure out the odds and ends along the way.

You need to get to the 'ain't no turning back' point ASAP.

What year is it? How does the left fender look? Is the right fender damage bad?

I am confused...too much info to process.

Rob I commend you for opening shop being right place and right time.

I will check back in 6 months and see how many more you have bought.
