im getting ready to install some some coilovers and a mild lift. My KDSS valve is in very good shape with only a dusting of surface rust, and the threads look perfect. I’m planning on spraying it with cosmoline to protect it once it’s back together. Does anyone have experience with anything like this?

I just dabbed some anti seize on the threads when I tightened up the valves after the install then smeared the surface with some marine grade grease.

Toyota uses a product called Noxudol for some of their anti-corrosion coatings. I believe they use the 300 to coat and prevent rust on several components. This product may work for you and be a better long term solution then having to re-coat with grease. It is a bit messy but can be brushed on or sprayed on.

In reading about Cosmoline, I might be concerned about filling the Allen wrench holes in the valve plugs with it because I wonder how easy it will be to dig out of there someday? You'll need the full depth of the holes to keep the allen wrench from stripping out and for me the easiest thing to remove is good old marine grease. My valve look new after 2 years of Michigan salt because I've greased up the plugs when I bought the truck and again when I used the valve to install airbags.
