So I'm looking at buying a set of AT3s for my 61. I like the 31x10.5 size, so I was just going to go with that. Then I noticed that it also comes in 265/75R15 which is virtually the same size, but the tire is slightly different. The main difference seems to be the load rating: the 265 being SL and the 31 being C. The 265 is also 6lbs lighter and ~$20 cheaper per tire.

Do I need the higher load rating or should I save money and perhaps improve fuel economy with the lighter tire? The truck they will go on is my daily driver and occasional weekend off-roader.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah the SL will be a P rated tire which is only for passenger vehicles and super light duty trucks. Stick with the LT truck rated tires.
