Hi!
I’m an owner of a Toyota coaster bus from 1992 with a 1hdt engine. I’ve been having a coolant leak since I bought the bus, initially didn’t think to much of it since it was not much and also assuming it would’ve been from the thermostat or water pump ( I’m not a mechanic). Finally after some time I’ve been locating the leak and it looks like it comes from a pinhole in the pipe that Ive marked in the photos , its pissing out and In pretty much unable to drive the bus any further than a few km really . I’ve now taking off the aircon unit that sat just above hoping I could easily solve the problem but no. To me it looks like I need to take off the exhaust manifold to be able to access the pipe, since I have a bus I can only work from above with limited access from underneath. Question is (before I take on the exhaust manifold that I’m very scared of, breaking bolts etc) how does that pipe attach to the little unit that the smaller pipe comes out of? Is it worth it or should I try some sort of coolant leak stop product that I’m not to keen to use tbh.
how hard is it to take off the manifold? Usually quite hard work from reading. And also, what is the pipe actually for? As you can hear I’m not a mechanic but I’m too poor to have someone else doing it for me.
Note- only the 3d photo is from my engine
Part number would also be awsome when we’re at it
Any help much appreciated
