cool LV on ebay

This rig is wrecked pretty severely. The seller is stating that it is minor and the pics make it look worse than it really is, but IMO after looking at the pics it is pretty bad. Someone can save it, but Alaska is a long way to go for a wrecked LV. Here is the web link. Click on the link the scroll down and look in the lower right hand menu for a link to 1965 Land Cruiser Project for sale.

wow. thanks for posting this info and the link. after looking at the pics, i'd have to say that there is absolutely no way that the frame is straight (as claimed by the seller).:whoops:

i emailed the seller and he replied, seems like he's a fairly straight forward dude:

Thanks for the message, and advice. I assure you the damage really does look worse than it truly is. It's been so damn cold up here (-30) I just haven't even done a thing to the rig since I wrecked, other than get under it to check the frame and components. I no longer have a shop available to me to work on it or I would redo the shackles, fenders, and hood right now. If you would could you email me with what you think would be a fair value for what I am trying to sell. Up here I've been so out of the loop for so damn long I really have no Idea other than to know what I have in it and the value of some of the components, i.e., PTO Winch, tires, after market parts, etc. Thanks again for your input, I do not want to disappoint anyone.

so i replied telling him that i though it might be in his best interest to put the LV back together when he gets a chance and then put it on the market.

best of luck to him either way.:)

Same message I got. I did not mean to infer the guy was not honest. He does seem very straight forward and honest. I was just wanting peps to know it was not a running project. It is really too bad bc he put a lot of work into that rig and it seems like it was very cool.

Funny, thought I'd search for my lv's and I found em!
I REALLY wish the moron didn't part both of them out to the extent that he did, but it sounds like many of you benefitted from his indiscretion. ;-) I picked up both lv's that he was once trying to sell on ebay, and have started pulling parts off of the wrecked one to put into the relativiely straight lv.
Anyways, Just thought I'd post that they are being worked on, now if only I could find a parts rig with good taillights, tailgate handle assembly, front defrost vent, PTO, and all the other parts he scavenged off these rigs, I'd be in good shape. lol

Is this the one that had an electric sunroof installed?

It is! Actually, he installed two Lincoln Towncar sunroofs into a perfectly straight and rust-free roof! Also, he had over twenty lights wired up, Lincoln heated seats, SOA in the rear, and a bunch of other stuff. I'll start a build thread this Summer that will document all the crazy stuff he did to it. I will say, after looking over his receipts, that he spent over $5,000 at SOR and Man-a-Fre on it.:)

I could, and still may, but not sure if it's worth it. Lots of pros and cons to both bodies and drivetrains. The wrecked one has a 1977 FJ-40 2F with a four speed and three speed t-case as well as front disks with a 1977 booster. The other one has an all-original drivetrain. Like I said, nothing is in stone, but I think all parts will go from the wrecked one into the straight, rusty one.
