You would think that I would someday learn to check the easy stuff first... but I probably won't. On the rain make up outing with the guys a couple of months ago Nolen noticed my front locker didn't seem to be locking correctly. Soooo... I finally tear the front end down and inspect the locker and find nothing wrong. Put it all back together to discover one of the Asco locking hubs sticking. A quick clean up was all it took to make things right. Dumbass...
 
I have seen stripped drive flanges misdiagnosed as a bad diff but these hubs "looked" okay. The hub gear just wasn't sliding smoothly when you turn the dial. There was a little rust in the lands and grooves that I small file made quick work of. It's all good now. Time to move to the back and put the old Aussie in the "new" full floater rear.
