Getting a head start on this puppy today. May peel myself away from it and go sit one last hunt this evening.

Packing for JV and I can't find a hoodie. Holy crap.

You know you are an upper middle class white guy when...

Don't hide it, just wear a turtleneck sweater.

I skeered of water that goes over the top of my hood. You're probably good for about the same depth. Is that the reason for the past DNF's?

250-ish miles... is a lot of that pavement? Have you got a link to an old sample route?

Yeah me too...not a big fan of flooding out my 100. Supposedly water and a couple rock hills, yes.

I sent them a message asking for more info, will post up if/when they reply.

That looks like it could be fun.
Here's the email reply they sent me. Think myself and another guy from Monroe might go...

Because of some restrictions from the USFS, we reuse some of our past route checkpoints so I cannot give those out. I have some youtube videos that will show you a little of everything you can expect for the Ozark Challenge.

Here is the first one>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV6Fl8vN8eg

Snorkels are NOT a requirement, though I recommend extended breather lines. Part of our prerun includes making ALL of the route passable by an open/open vehicle with 31" tires. No snorkel, no winch, no bumper, nothing but a driver.

Hope that helps!

I'm sure that Taco at 2:30 was glad to have a snorkel.

But that looks hella fun.

Those water crossings don't look too bad but it is good practice to already have a tow strap secured to your vehicle front and rear ready to toss to a support vehicle if needed.

That does look like fun but I would be useless as far as locating the route, finding checkpoints, etc. :(
