deactivated my account. Not for good. Just being overwhelmed lately.

Drama.

My wife did the same. She never got on FB and when she did it was just too much BS for her. I try not to let things that that get to me. :flipoff2:

Just got word from a delta friend "in the know." They are worried about breached levees, especially at Friars Point which is close to Clarksdale. Other rumors are stirring that the levee will be compromised, just south of Sam's Town in Tunica, in order to measure the rise rate of the river and to relieve pressure at Friars Point. This would be very close to Parker's land and where the cold weather campout is held.

My Brother in Memphis said that they are building walls in Memphis to try to keep the MS out! Gonna get worse I expect. They got 5 inches last night and been raining all day.

Here is a great wearther radar site so you can see it coming! Make it a favorite.

It is not the rain we are getting down here that really makes such an impact on the MS river. Upstream is the main issue.

My sister has a house inside the levee at Clarksdale and it is built on stilts at 1927 floodstage and they are expecting it to go under. They moved out this weekend.

Crazy. Last time it did this in 2008 we went over to Chotard and rode the levees and there were deer standing on the side of the road with no place to go. Sad.

What was the 1927 floodstage? Are we looking at Rising Tide II?

Tornado sirens right now Jackson. I sure I hope I remembered to set the parking brake on the mobile home.

Not drama on FB by any means... it was hard to do it. 2011 has been a rough year so far me... too many tragedies around me. It's hard to describe, but I think, for myself, it's been a slow build of stress being "always connected" with email, web, texts, cell phones.... keep in mind, Ive been carrying a PDA with email since 2003 (winMobo, BB, iPhone) so maybe I'm a little ahead of the curve, but since i deactivated my FB account yetsrday after lunch, my emails have dropped over 75%.... i also got alot more focus here at work done today. I left my iPhone in the hosue yesterday afternoon when i got home, intentionally, and chatted with neighbors for an hour...
GSMTR '05 (?) I remember sitting in McNabb camp thinking "I haven't received a phone call, email or text in 3 days" and remembering how relaxed I was... That week was a beautiful week. Not sure that has happened since... and it's been almost 7 years. Kinda feel like these kids feel now that all of them have ADHD...

Got a text from Battle. He thinks that the levees are fine even at levels much higher than the projected crest. He also said he has his canoe tide to his back porch just in case.

Me - "Julie, there is a tornado warning in Terry....where are you..."

Julie - "Terry High School on I-55"

Me - "Is it raining?"

Julie - "Holy s*** is it raining"

Me - "Find a bridge, get under it"

Julie - "you know you get double life insurance if I die in my company car"

Me- "I think you can beat it"

:D'

Pray for the redhead

Glad to hear everyone is OK!

May be evacuating the F-I-L's hunting camp cabin by boat this weekend or next. Projected crest just south of Port Gibson puts it 3 to 4 feet in the cabin. Might have to miss the Lorman/Windsor/Rocky Springs Cruise.

He better not wait 10 days.....

Sounds crazy, but it would be easier to wait till the water was almost in the cabin. It will make getting the boat off the trailer much easier. Its already too late to drive to the cabin.
