Im on the hunt for a 42.....again.

I nearly bought the Crusty's 42 a while back but couldn't swing it, much to Christina's (and mine... and Kirk's) dissapointment.

I have harassed Darnell but he wont sell me his..... (dont blame him, i would never sell that truck either)

Im not looking for another project at the moment just a turn key 42. PS and 5sp would be nice.

Ive been hunting around in the interweb here and there but if anyone else sees one that I might have missed, please send me a link or whatever,

Thanks
Cam

a 5 speed 42 with PS that's not a project? happy hunting and hope you're prepared to pay the price

greg has a nice truck apparently.
I think if your going to spend the money go with something like that.
He is a cruiser fanatic after all and I think he did it right.

this is probably a 60, but it doesn't say...

toyota land cruiser diesel

here's the green one

1981 Landcuiser BJ42

and a red 84...

1984 Toyota Landcruiser BJ42.

and another...bit of a project tho.

Landcruiser Bj42

Thanks Ryan, I think the red one (gregs) is by far the best. We have been emailing eachother back and forth. We have not mentioned price yet but im guessing its going to be a spendy one. (for good reason)

The 84 is a little more work than im into at this point. Green one might be worth a look.

You missed out on my first '84/42 Cam. It was on ebay a few weeks ago, full resto, looked mint!

That sucks! How much did it go for?

I'm pretty sure that 84 BJ42 was has been up on craigslist for ages...

I seem to remember the price being something obsene before (someplace >$50k) ... I remember thinking it was some kind of joke... apparently he realized nobody was going to give him that and lowered the price...

that truck isn't greg's.
He has a aqualu doesn't he....

If your serious about buying a really nice purchase.
I have a friend who restores them for a living....
You'll have to wait. He is currently putting the body on though.
He does nice work...

Hey folks. Yes, the one Cam linked to is my 1st Land Cruiser ever. Thanks for the props...I got into vehicles (specifically Land Cruisers) in my mid 30's, and this was my 1st time time doing anything like this. So there are things I would do different, with what I know now. However...the foundation is there for this truck, and will stay there for years.

It's also not a 5spd, has no turbo, no power steering, and no hard top. The 1st three things Cam wants. On a better note...I do have a 7 window Eshan vinyl top here, and some Pilgrim bows that just landed in the USA.

I was telling Cam I can't find my file of receipts for when I did the BJ42. Probably a good thing.

Hey Greg,

curious, on the subject of soft tops, is Ehsan still making those? that guy in boston never seems to reply to emails off his website,I'd pretty much given up on finding one.

Had a smokin' deal on a new soft top with two part doors off ebay, but looks like the a-hole never shipped it or something ...shockingly paypal is refunding me.

So guess I'm back looking.

I tried a few times before we finally connected last Oct. When he posted up some sale prices to get things moving we connected. That was for a tan vinyl 7 window top. At that time he had no bows, but sounds like he does now. I don't know if Eshan still sending them in as I have not followed it since I got mine. Boston's website says under construction.

This guy is still taking orders for made in USA ones: https://forum.ih8mud.com/merchandise-storefront/326260-canvas-soft-tops-21.html#post6677925

yeah, seems to be a lot of drama with the ocd ones, and likely a long wait...

almost picked one up on ebay, but didn't in favour of the kayline with doors that is now lost in shipping or who knows what...

oh well....(end thread hijack..)

Ryan, what you waiting for isn't your's almost done?

Sell your's so you can buy it and start over... :flipoff2:

Looks interesting.

no time. people keep nagging me to take my truck wheeling and I haven't had time to deal with even it's small issues for months. Never mind the big ones..spent more time working on steven's truck ( dunno how that tom sawyer mf'er does it...)

Can't even remember where my freakin tool box is.

but yeah, does look interesting, if I was on the mainland I'd go check it out. But, too much of a broke ass these days for extra trucks...

you can easily flog that trailer for 1k any day of the week which is a plus...
