Connect Muncie SM420 onto 1980 CJ-7 6-cil 4.2 (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

I have an SM420 that comes off an FJ40 that a CJ-7 owner is excited to take over from me because of the granny-first gear. He wonders how people connect it onto the 4.2. His engine is the 258cu 4.2liter carburator 6 inline.

Is an adapter plate required, a new bellhouse, or should / can the original bellhouse be modified?

I beieve the jeep bellhousing needs to be altered and the frt bearing retainer. Check out novak conversions and maybe a jeep forum.
