How do you get those stupid cone washers on the front lockouts off without banging on the hub body. I have some really stuborn ones

Try a punch on the stud or a small screw driver in the crack. Or just bang on the hub body! :D That's what I do, just leave the nut on a bit and tap on the edge of the hub. Gets 'em every time, course once they are off I clean everything up good so I don't have to next time.

Tried all the above, dented the piss out off the hub body to get one cone washer out, these things are fused to the stud itself!

take off the washer. saok it with a penatrant oil. I like ZEP 45.
and then put a nut on the stud. screw it till its flush with the stud. use a brass punch to beat the stud and nut a few tines, and then beat the side of the hub.
it should come out.
use lots of penatrant oil

I had a few on my '85 that I had to double nut and remove the stud with cone washer attached. I cleaned everything up and added some anti-sieze before I reinstalled the new ones.

Putting an air chisle on them gets em off fast and easy.

but makes for much more work when reassembling them.

Why? I have used an air hammer with a blunt punch tipped bit for years, by far the fastest way to get them off. I hit the face of locking hub next to the cone washer, the vibration knocks them right out.

1: insert small punch or ? in the cone washer gap,

I have done both but recommend the later, place in gap and hit in twards the the hub, this spreads and it comes out

place in gap and angle the tool, hit tool as if to spin the washer on the stud.

2: place a flat punch/ screwdriver on lip of conewasher (gap 90deg from contact) flush with the hub face tap or hit (nail the #ell out of it :hillbilly: ) directly down, the spring in the gap will cause it to fall out.

reinstal the gaps out from hub they will turn a little

I did have alot difficulty while working on my 85 LJ70 removing the cone washers. I tried all that was suggested above except for the air chisel. What works for me was brass hammer & brass drift. Placing the brass drift above the cone & hammer it hard. At first I was hesistant to hammer thinking that I may wreck the locking hub but my mechanic friend showed it to me & did it all. Just make sure before you hammer to just loosen the nut & do not remove it because when you hammer it the cone will fly out & lose it. Unless you're planning to replace them then that's fine without it.

I'd hit em with a healthy shower of pb blaster, put em back together until tomorrow, and take them a part after a decent little drive so they are warm. Pry with a flathead, hit the outside with a hammer while nuts are still on. They will come free, persuasion is key, sometimes cussing and beer are required too.
