Here's the short version. Just got my engine rebuilt, installed and running (3.0 v6), and am having the check engine light come on (bought the 1991 truck with the engine already fried, don't know any history). Pulled the code and it is 52, knock sensor. Have tried a new sensor, replace the wire and still gets the same code. My questions are: Is there any way i can check the ecu to see if it is faulty? I have checked the knock circuit for voltage when the truck is running and there is none, is that normal? I check the knock circuit pin at the computer and still no voltage but there is continuity, is this normal?

Thanks for the help,

Jim

Which wire did you replace? There is a SSC out on this, the wire harnes that runs across the top of the engine under the intake gets melted and you get this error. Most dealers don't know about it, there's an upgraded harness that fixes it.
