I just received my 229K '97 LC. I just dropped it off at Toyota to get the following work done to give me some peace of mind until something else pops up.
-OEM radiator hoses
-OEM lower hoses
-OEM tstat
-OEM radiator
-OEM belts
-Grease zerk/driveshaft
-Modified Wits' End fan clutch
-Toyota Red coolant flush
-Resolve intermittent oil sensor light
Next month at a 4x4 shop:
-Rebuild front axle
-Maybe install Wits' End d-cardan d-shaft
-4.88 Nitro w/ OEM kit regear
-New transfer case fluid
-Install ARB rear panhard
Then after 500 miles on the new diff, I'll do the following at Toyota:
-Fresh diff fluid to flush out break-in particles from regear
-New fuel filter
-Transmission oil change
-OEM radiator hoses
-OEM lower hoses
-OEM tstat
-OEM radiator
-OEM belts
-Grease zerk/driveshaft

21 years old and here's what the heater control valve looks like - tapped out. It gave out after I got a new OEM radiator put in with coolant flush. I'm guessing the added flow pressure with new parts pushed it past its 21 year young limit. Thank you for serving the truck well, Mr. Heater Control Valve.
