Complete Dash removal (1 Viewer)

Just wondering if anyone has done this before and if any hints can be provided.. I'm attempting to remove the entire dash so I can fit a 7x but from what I can tell the 55 dash is spot welded in place.

I am planning on using 7x brake/clutch/steering wheel/wiring harness/fuseboxes all everything else attached. Width wise it looks like a good fit, however it seems a bit deeper than the 55 (which was expected and welcomed). I would ideally remove the 55 dash all the way to the windscreen so that the demister vents and associated piping are also able to be used.

Where I'm up to at the moment.

I need to remove the heater box, clutch and brake masters..

Overlay the 7x dash on top roughly

At a glance it looks like a good fit however I would like to make certain before doing any unrepairable damage. The 7x dash will need some minor trimming but nothing major from what I can tell at this point in time.

I can't help you with your 7x fit issues, but I did cut out the old dash from the 74 body shell and welded in another one from a 77. Lots of spot welds, but it did come out relatively easy.
