I’ve owned this FJ40 since 1987 and decided to sell it because I purchased an LX470 to carry the grandkids. It has been reliable and is very capable on the trail. The body is mostly sound and has some rust, but not excessive. Original paint.

The bad:

  • 4-way flashers inoperable (probable bad switch)
  • SES light occasionally illuminates, especially during low speed trail running, but always returns to normal
  • Dent on passenger door frame top – must push on window to roll it up the last half inch
  • Rust areas: rear sill, front corners of rear inner fenders, 2 spots in rear floor pan above the body mounts, 2 spots forward of rear tires, and near front fender marker lights. Door pillars, front floorboards, and rear pan are sound (except for 2 spots above the body mounts).
Runs well and has been very reliable. $14,500/highest offer.
