Color/finish of a 77 valve cover???

Does any one know what the finish or color of 2F engine valve cover for 1977 was. Currently mine is aluminum that has been steel wooled but has traces of some kind if finish or paint on it.

Haven't found any pics of an original engine.

If I remember correct, the 2f in my 76 40 was gray smooth paint.
