Why Colombia … This county had many candidate vehicles that met my requirements, which included; a gas engine, LHD, low salt climate areas, original paint and a primary use as a commuter vehicle.
To safely navigate the risks of this overseas transaction, I sought out a member of this forum who had lots of Colombian purchase and export experience … @aljollano. He provided me phone references of other buyers that he has worked with. His forum posts and our initial conversations, demonstrated his knowledge of how to safely buy a vehicle from Colombia. I also choose to work with this forum member, because of his skills in servicing LCs. I expected a Columbian maintained truck to need some work after import, so his Austin, TX shop did the needed suspension work before the truck was shipped to me in NC.
