its here!

Becky just phoned me at work to inform me of a large parcel arriving at our doorstep. I'll unwrap the shipping packaging when I get home, but I shall resist the temptation to open the box, charge it up and play with it :)

OK, the arrangements are all worked out for the Christmas Party. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and dinner will commence at about 7:30. Remember to bring $15. each person. Those who owe CC club renewal dues may pay at that time as well: $25. Tell your license number to receptionist at the door. A few rooms will be available for people who want to stay the night at a reduced rate of $79. per room. Heidi will be our dedicated bartender if she is working that night, and you pay her for your booze. There is a stunning array of prizes for the raffle, worth over $2000. retail because almost all of it was bought on sale of around 40% off by your super shopper membership coordinator. The remote FJ40 crawler is in, so we can play with that all evening.
Finally, I will post another map and directions for those coming over the Arthur Lang bridge from Vancouver. See you there!
~Bill
P.S. the salmon on the menu is wild!

Xmas party raffle.....grand prize

After a 3 day journey from the land of Toyota, it has arrived safe and sound!

The first pic (packaging) shows the excellent job Motoomi (Mot, from here on MUD) did in preparing this masterpiece for its long journey to Canada.
The following pics show it entombed in its shrine, until loves first kiss sets it free. Or failing that, some drunk at the party can't resist temptation and rips out to play; only to remember that the battery isnt charged yet.

There are some differences between this yellow one and my shiny red one thats posed next to it. The yellow one does not have four wheel steering, the remote is different (as you can see on the pic of the rear of the box), the tires are different (they look like Interco TRXUS?) and it has working rear tail lights (mine just has head lights). The bumpers are different as well.

Hey Jeff,

I'm glad that you've got your rig safe and sound again, this time w/o paying the excess amount throught the Customs.

The pictures look great and I really appreciate your comments you've left about our transactions. :crybaby:

I wish you guys have a great turnout and that the raffle winner will be thrilled about getting the new 40.

THANKS AGAIN!

Sincerely,

Mot

To get to the Elephant & Castle, 3500 Cessna Dr., Richmond Delta Hotel from Vancouver:

1. Go South over Arthur Laing Airport bridge from Vancouver toward Richmond.
2. Take ramp exit to Richmond/South Terminal about .7 km.
3. Quickly move over to the LEFT lane before you get to the big intersection of Miller Rd. and Russ Baker Way.
4. Turn LEFT at Miller Rd. and go 10 meters (Avoid bus loop)
5. Turn RIGHT at Cessna Drive and go 13 metres.
6. Turn LEFT into Delta Hotel parking lot and go to the rear of building. The Elephant & Castle is the building on poles in the river.
7. Report your vehicle licence number to staff as you enter the Elephant & Castle. Our lounge is upstairs.
8. NOTE THAT THE ARTHUR LAING BRIDGE MAY BE CLOSED AFTER 10:00 P.M. DUE TO CONSTRUCTION: SOMETIMES IT IS, SOMETIMES IT ISN'T.

How many people are expecting to stay at the Delta Hotel on Dec. 9?
To get the $79. room rate, you have to phone Mark at reservations, 604 278 1241, Extension 6541 and tell them you are a Coastal Cruiser and want the "take the elevator home" rate.
~Bill

I was talking to the Delta Airport Hotel today, and there was some confusion about hotel reservations. They even had a room reservation for me and I never asked for one. I think that anybody who does expect to rent a room on Dec. 9 ought to phone them this week and make a reservation and give them your Visa number, so as to avoid disappointment at the last moment.
~Bill

As with last year they are quite confused. I did get the rate. It might be helpful to tell them there is NOT a block of rooms reserved... but that we have been quoted the rate due to the party. Having Mark's name and number will most likely make it easier.

BTW $35 dog charge - was only $10 last year. F**K I hate paying for other peoples' bad-mannered pets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope no one is sharing a room with Jeff
be warned!
