So a few years ago I had my motor rebuilt, new clutch and everything. A couple weeks ago I put in a new clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and new flex hose. Flushed the lines, bench bled and everything had been working great. The other I drove her out to the mountains to fish for steelhead on my buddies ranch. She ran great shifted flawlessly I got home backed up to the shop to unload gear. Then went to move her and when I turned key the brake light came on and all the gauges worked but nothing. The battery gauge was normal right at 12+. Then I let out the clutch and it started. I’ve always pushed clutch in to start. Any places to start looking.

Sounds like a safety switch on the clutch pedal

Is it important
It’s a safety feature. To me it’s not needed but some others it may be necessary or important. It would prevent you from starting the vehicle when in gear and the clutch in gauged

I’m not even sure if you have one on your vehicle.
