My clutch went out while driving a few weeks back; I managed to keep 4th until I got home but pulling in the driveway that went too. Getting under the truck I saw the slave piston was very wet and of course my fluid reservoir was empty.

I replaced the Master and Slave as well as the hose between the slave and hardline. After topping off the reservoir with fluid and doing a two person bleed routine I have yet to have any pedal pressure whatsoever. Fluid is coming out of the bleeder screw in a small stream as the clutch pedal is depressed.

The slave piston is not moving at all.

I used Aisin parts from #cruisermatt and have double checked for leaks in the line. I did replace a small section of the clutch line as it was damaged during removal.

Looking for help of course!

EDIT: Maybe I am just not doing it long enough to get the air out?

Because the master is higher than the slave fluid will drain out the bleed screw without much pressure being developed. I would suspect the master is not developing pressure.

Take it out, do an inspection of the cups/seals and maybe see if you can get it to develop pressure on the bench.

Did you bench bleed the MC??
I did not. Sounds like that's a must? I just looked up the procedure - I will do this first and report back if need be.

Thanks!

Well - still no go here. Bleed the master until no bubbles. I am barely getting anything out of the bleeder screw on the slave. No pressure is building in the pedal.

Line restriction?

clamp off the soft clutch hose, can you still pump the clutch pedal?

I am in business. It ended up being the pedal distance to the floor. I've never had reason to check or alter it; I pulled the new master and measured with a caliper against the old and made the distance between the lock nuts and the end of the cylinders match. Pressure built after three pumps.

Thanks all.
