Glad you're getting it sorted, and yeah, a sudden inability to shift, can make you fear all sorts of expensive problems...
Not to hijack, but it's funny, I threw the plates back on my 60 yesterday, and lo and behold, it didn't like resting for a couple months.
My issue is that the clutch fork isn't staying retracted ( no return spring on mine, which I find a bit weird), if I push the slave in by hand it slowly creeps back out and allows the throwout bearing to lightly touch the pressure plate.
May have been doing it a while, but my throwout bearing is a bit growly at higher rpms now so it howls when it touches.
Is there a return spring inside the bellhousing on the newer h55's? There doesn't appear to be any provision for one on the outside at all.
Anyways, two hose clamps and a spring, and I have a return spring. Hopefully that keeps it quiet until I deal with it. Maybe my master isn't letting the pressure off fully ...
Hm. Just did a search, and apparently the newer ones have no return spring, and the throwout bearing rides on the clutch all the time. seems like unecessary wear to me.
