There are lot of opinions on what can be used IMO. You will get many different answers..
some right , some not.
What bellhousing and clutch fork you using? ( cast BH)??
straight chevy cast fork= long throwout bearing
curved chevy cast fork= short throwout
The ten spline intput shaft on the LC 3 speed is NOT the same as CHevy ten spline. Close ans similar but not the same.
How do I know?.... the hard way.. pulled my engine twice before i got it right.
look at the splines straight on, they are different ..small but different. If you can use a Toyota disc behind the chev PP.. that's what I'd do. But be careful, even though it looks OK.. you will not know until it's bolted up like I did.
I tried but the inner hub of the OEM LC disc hit the CHevy Pressure Plate and I had to pull the motor. I had a custom disc made for the same price.
.
What I used.......
I use a Chev diaphram short throw pressure plate $55
" " a short chevy throwout bearing on my curved cast fork $20
I had a custom disc made.. chevy outer clutch mated to a toyota center hub/angle spline ..$47
One more important thing.. I had too much play in the clutch for mating to teh clutch pivot ball. .. it used up alot of my slave throw. after a new spring and filling in the top of the pivot ball and allowed no play.............
Shifts like a Honda civic now..
