Clunking noise

Could bad hub bearings or front axle cause hard shifting from reverse to drive? Or just general clunking noise when driving?

Yes, hubs, drive flanges, u-joints as well as bushings.

have you greased your driveshafts recently?

I had no clunk till I greased by joints and shaft ironically lol Had same issue with my 4runner. No one ever lubes them like one of us nuts does lol
