Club snow run?

I ended up at Timmys with nobody showing except a group of jeeps heading out for a trail run...

Sounds like Copper Canyon is all locked up, bumped into a guy on his quad on MT Prevost and he mentioned a new way in? After a hour or so on Prevost I headed towards Nanaimo and found my way down to the Chemainus River. Probably not a good idea since the other side is Native land.

Ended up doing a loop on Mt Benson, trucks stuck in the snow trying to climb the backside road up. Very simular to a small club run a few years back, snow got wet and slick making it difficult to get any traction.. Bumped into Brendan in his HZJ73 double locked, we finished the run together, his AT tires did way better than my KO2s aired down to 10psi (might have them sipped).

Met up with Jim on Dumont, stupid slippery on all the hills so we left.

Will post up a few pics tomorrow.

Carnage #1, lady slid backwards 250ft into me. I couldn't back up without risking the other two yotas, a guy putting on chains and about 20 kids to tobogganing. Made the quick decision to F*** that jeep in the butt.
Landcruiser walked away without even a scratch...no joke

Reconsidering our plan for the day

Carnage #2, didn't stop for our warnings, same hill, same spot. Jackknifed and actually managed to get the trailer to catch an edge and pick the truck up off the ground by the bumper and hold it there. This was after we got the truck down out of hiding. Recovered in 30minutes and he went home

At this point we decided there was no fun way up this road so headed back down a km or so and started a fire, listened to music an drank beers until the sun set

Me and my old boss\owner of Metal Supermarkets headed out Friday and ended up winching about 200 feet, had to block the wheels and cross our fingers while I ran into the woods looking for a tree to hook up to.

Snow was pretty deep and had to forge into the bush, found a healthy 6 inch round tree??? and hooked up as there was nothing else. Got us out with a little pucker..

Couple vids from Brendan..

1st is the lil trail around back side of Benny

2nd is showing the conditions.
Icy Hill Toyota Land Cruiser

3rd is pretty cool

Looks pretty icy out there now...more ice run than snow run. Vid of that truck is pretty nuts.

Ahh, the 250' slide...brings back unpleasant memories...partly of jay sliding 249.5' backwards and stopping 6" from my bumper, and partly of cam leaning on my hood and giving it a slight push, at which point I slide a good 100'.

all in all, a rather unpleasant day.

that story was running through my head as i tossed the idea back and forth to back up as quick as i could. didnt pan out the same, but glad nothing seems damaged at this point
