7.5” centered wheels is 3.75” of backspacing. You then added a 1.5” spacer taking backspacing to 2.25”. Stock is about 4.5”.

On my 80 I have 3.5” of backspacing which makes the tires line right up with the edge of the flares. With 315’s I can fully stuff a tire and have zero rub.

Cheers

So it sounds like on factory alloys the biggest spacer you can run is 1" for 315/75/R16?

You can run whatever you want but problems show themselves when things are not dialed in. You can easily limit up travel too.

Cheers

What’s the advantage of a spacer on the stock rim?

Probably just looks. Some people claim it handle better since the tires are further apart. I have Slee 1.25" spacers on stock wheels on my 100 series and didn't really notice much handling difference from stock. I do have Slee 1.5" spacers to put on the 80 but now thinking it might be overkill and the tire will stick out past the flares. Not sure why Slee doesn't just make smaller sized spacers, 1.5" is alot.

Gotcha, I run a generic half inch spacer on the 40 but that was my solution to the DS tire hitting my drag link at full right. I’m on stock rims with 315’s on the 80 and it’s been fine on and off-road.

How wide is your wheel?

Tein coil isolators. Can find them on eBay. They do help with rattling.View attachment 3656221
Not seeing anything on ebay. Amazon has this:

Does That look right? do you have to have the front axle drooped to install these on the upper coils? And how many per coil did you end up using? It looks like 3-4 per coil? Thanks for the pic

Sounds about right from what I’m seeing. So no spacers maybe try or .25”

Yeah looks like amazon may have them too. You need Large. Tein Large Spring Silencer | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/276146444938?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=6KS6Ezp6RJq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=CHHAUbYMTz6&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

3 - 4 sets should cover you depending on coils. I installed them off the truck but you should be able to do it on the vehicle with some droop.

You may have solved this. I have a similar setup: 3" lift, oem steelies, 35x12.5 cooper stt pros. No flares though. I needed 1" spacers to clear the rear swaybar mounts (old '94 strap style on outside of frame). I also have bump stop spacers front and rear (made by a mud member). I don't have any issues with use on reasonably aggressive offroad scenarios.

The wheels are Fifteen52 Analog. Look like steelies.

I put the 1" spacers on, and it helped a lot. It may be possible to run no spacer with these wheels. I gained 2" + of flex without cutting anything yet. Need to center both axles a little bit. I did a month ago. and seems to have moved a bit. Either way I may add bump stops just to be safe. I still have 2" to go on both shocks (fortunately or unfortunately). Will test no spacers next week and check again, then start cutting.

Definitely check out the bump stop spacers.

If you go without wheel spacers, make sure you check for contact with the frame and inner fender at the rear when aired down and flexed.

Do you have swaybar spacers/extensions, longer brake lines and ebrake spacer? Definitely want to consider those areas. And of course some flavor of caster correction...

Not saying it has anything to do with why slee doesn't sell the different spacers, but I can say that with 1" spacers (depending on rim design) you may need to deal with the length of the front studs. I had to cut a small amount off the ends of the front studs to allow the steelies not make contact on my 80.

I have front sway bar drops, beefcake rear sway bar drop/heims, brake extensions, caster bushings, etc. I had bump stop drops in rear but removed them as was not necessary with my 33s. I can put them back if needed. Ran out of time today, but will pull the spacers tomorrow and test.

I leave to Grand Canyon (North Rim) Wednesday, but just mild wheeling/exploring. Then back for 2 days, and off to Rubithon.
