I'm glad that I don't have to depend on Michael Biehn, Charlie Sheen, Bill Paxton, and Dennis Haysbert to defend us. Similarly, I'm glad that I don't have to depend on the guys from Act of Valor to act in more movies.

That's not a complaint. The movie was as advertised, so I knew what to expect going in. It was a fun ride.

excellent observation Spivey.....totally agree

The plot line and the acting were really bad. I had a very hard time taking it seriously. I think that it would have been MUCH better with LT and Chief as real actors and the rest as SEALS.

It was aimed squarely at the "Call of Duty" generation of kids that do house to house Point of View video games. Coming is with Night Vision on and flashlights and lasers was dumb, but that was Hollywood stuff.

Sure, it was pretty good when the hardware was out....I loved the Special Boats guys with the belt fed 30mm's roasting the old pickups. I loved when they took out the yacht.

The Senior Chief was funny, but I could not get passed the fact that he was being used as a mission briefer (strategic) and a interrogator. They may have some guys that do that with "6" the elite counter-terror team, but not with a group like this. Stupid small stuff like that bugged me.

Overall, I liked it, but I doubt I will watch it over and over like I do Blackhawk Down.

I loved the movie night and dinner with my buds the best. We roasted some XX beers......

Nolan go read my monster post above.

Acting wasn't great bc they wanted REAL SEALs doing it all.

unrealistic missions, chief doing interogations was all done to have a plot line...obviously what the movie depicted would have involved multiple teams, tons of analyst, alot more time, etc.

Top Gun was the same way, they went from carrier ops to top gun to aerial cat and mouse with MiGs....not realistic according to my Dad.

it's gonna have to have some license to get away from reality in order to be summarized in a 2 hour movie.

bottom line it will help recruiting

Yeah the NVG thing bothered me too. They blew a bunch of stuff up and there was a lot of killing. Good stuff!

Did you guys sit next to each other or did y'all leave the required "I am not Homo" seat between you.

Been a long time since I have seen a movie without the wife except when I go to the Paris Theatre in Memphis.

Fun times.

The Navy recruiter told me with my vast intellect and athletic stamina that I would be a natural for a Seal Team. But if he was like the Navy recruiter in 1987 he lies. That guy told me if I signed up he would get me my own F14 and a Top Gun ball cap...

Spivey nailed it.
Can't wait for the Lone Survivor movie Lone Survivor Movie | Lone Survivor Marcus Luttrell | LoneSurvivor.net

Peter Berg, who did The Kingdom and Friday Night Lights is doing it. The acting and action will be good I am sure.

Those guys are bad ass.

didn't know about lone survivor.....we should all go to that too!!! looks good

You guys have to read American Sniper. Really awesome. That guy was a SEAL and hated working in the water. Really good stuff. I see that being a Blackhawk Down type.

Lone Survivor was a great read and so is American Sniper.

This is one of my favorite gunbattle scenes...... 2:41 ....... "Go Loud"

I love that movie. Very believable.

I am new to Netflix streaming and am finding the choices for old classics from when I was a kid lacking. All the old good ones are DVD rental only. Anybody got good gouge for the best streaming movie outlet?

I did that and was badly disappointed in the offerings for streaming so I went back to the DVDs.

Look at Apple TV. I have it, but I have not looked close at availability on the older movies. My internet sucks so bad the Netflix would not go 3 min without buffering.
