Daryl, anyone in the Ark. crew from the Fort Smith area? Gotta a guy interested in the cage out of my 40 and I'm trying to line up a ride for it.

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry, no. All are 5 hours away from Fort Smith.

We may not have the company of the other Arkansas boys on this trip now. Richard and Michael lost their grandfather on Saturday and I'm not sure how this will influence their plans. He was a great old fella and he will be dearly missed. Y'all send a few kind thoughts this way for the grieving family I know it will help. Thanks - Daryl

I hate to hear that and wish 'em the best thru their hard times. :frown:

I've always been jealous of Folks that have family ties. :meh:

It's gonna be alittle chilly... 53 degrees on saturday, and 31 at night.. Good beer drinking weather while sitting around the ole campfire.

... Good beer drinking weather ...

Is there any weather that ain't good for drinkin' beer ...

I'm sittin' at the airport in Boston waitin' for a flight home. Load out the camper tomorrow and head up Thursday mornin'.

I've already got the chainsaw loaded up for the campfire situation.

:flamingo:

OK, so I forgot? Where are we going again? Sorry the weather here is good for drinking!

at the Grand Canyon right now.....well, will be as soon as I finish my coffee....

planning a Thursday arrival...mid-afternoon sometime...

SnT was awesome, and my damage minimal :D

Here's where I am at and counting down the hours.

My buddy, the contractor, is out. That guy has so much work and very little crew to none to leave the job site alone. He's got a sub' and don't want to leave him alone.

I call my cousin and see if he was up to the challenge. Well, that fawcker still in college and as usual, he's got a test on Thurday nite plus the strugle of getting some days off from his boss, so his out too.

So I am driving alone ,as usual. It will be about a 12 hr drive 730 mi one way.

I will attempt to leave around 6:00am, hoping to arrive around 6 or 7:00pm if I don't get lost.

Does cell phone work in that area? if they don't better!

I don't have my tent ready and by the comments on the night weather I'll porbably be better sleeping in my 80.

This time I am bringing some blankets to keep me warm at night

730 miles?

I'll have over 4000 on this trip by the time I arrive in Clayton... ;)

Y'all drive safe.

I made it to the 3X's last night. Gotta see if'n Lil' Pete will fire off this mornin' and start loadin' out.

Then gotta make a run for the border for some supplies ...

Talked to Josh last night ... he's got the Prowler all tuned up and serviced and is sittin' dead-on-ready to head up tomorrow. Reckon he'll ease on up with me and Debbie so shootin' for 'round a noonday arrival.

Talked to Sadler last night ... he's gonna bust outta Edhube bright-n-early Saturday and meet us at The Commune 'round 0800.

Dusty said him and Tammy should be there early Friday mornin' ... they got a hotel room at the Inn.

:flamingo:

Just so you know, people down here don't do that as a Hobbie

Down here a lot of people think I am crazy or an idiot. Well I am a little bit of both but my job don't necessarily helps.

The fact that I have to drive a lot of miles, long hours to get to a place and I don't even know where it is.

is kind of questionable

But who cares!

Gotta see if'n Lil' Pete will fire off this mornin' and start loadin' out ...

She sure didn't wanna fire ... but my neighbor down the road had some startin' fluid ... and that did the trick. :D

Ever'thang in the camper seems to be workin' ...

Ain't fired off the Cruiser since The Ramble in June. She fired off ... and commenced to spewin' fuel all over the shop.

Further investigation revealed a dry-rotted fuel hose 'tween the electric pump back by the tank on the passenger side and the fuel filter mounted on the frame on the driver's side.

But had me some extra fuel hose in the toolbox on Lil' Pete and made quick work of the replacement.

Bottom line ... loaded out and sittin' dead-on-ready to hit the road in the mornin'. :steer:

:flamingo:

landed in some dive hotel outside OKC for the nite...'bout 5 hours out I believe...few things to do in the AM, but outta be there mid-aft :)

Home sweet home!

I'm a "maybe" again. The sleeper won't fit in anything headed north and the guy talking about buying the ToyBox set up hasn't committed as of this morning. I sold the family cage this morning and may end up taking to College Station then picking up the sleeper in Bonham on the way home...... It's all up in the air right now.
